Bags and cookies in a Sunday Morning

Hi All... i know that this is a quick update.... well i was up early, my sis asked me if i wanted to go to church today but i decided to skip and do something else. I actually wanted to do my laundry but it's all cloudy and i don't see the point. Anywhoos, i still have extra energy to burn so i decided to bake cookies. i actually bought a batter mix where you just add an egg and some butter to it and i actually had a minor accident.... hahahahah.... i was trying to open the packet and instead of using a scissors like a civilized person, i decided to open it with with my hands and i did loose a bit of the batter... hahahahah... all was good my cookies turned out ok... i just forgot to add in chocolate chips in them... Good attempt without help this time. =D

And did i ever mention that i have a weakness for bags... yes i cannot resist bags... especially hot ones. I've been buying bags from Amelie Accessories (click to check out her site)For her site new items are usually updated on the Picasa Web albums. These are some of the bags i ordered 2 mths ago... it actually came early but both Amelie and i were a bit busy with our own thing that we could not meet up. I know it's crazy but i am unable to find bags in this style here. I got one, last year when i was in Spore from Perllini and it is a bit small but very cool overall. This version from amelie is different, it's bigger and it zips up. My bag from SG does not zip but it closes by the magnets near the handles of the bag... complicated to explain here. Since i could not resist, i bought the same bag in 3 colours!!! Each cost $28, which i find to be quite cheap for its size =D

This pink one, is very interesting up close... the colour is a bit different

White

And black!!!! you cannot not get black coz black goes with anything =D

The interior of the bag... quite big ya? So i dunno what i will be doing today... i still want to find cookie cutters... i think i am entering that baking phase... hahahaha... crazy much... Will update soon again... Bubyez... xoxo KeL <3

I've been baking lately... =D

Hellew all... well i have been baking/making things lately.... There are some days where i feel that i have extra energy to burn off so i tried to do something useful... to make something from scratch... hehehehhe

Here are my doggie cookies.... hahahah they look funny and were of different sizes. the whole batch was supposed to produce 48 cookies but i ended up with less then 20 i think..... hahahahah... never the less, i will try this one again =D

The above is called Doggie Cookies, this lady had two versions of it; one horlicks and one milo. Click here to check it out... she has plenty of cool recipes. look how pretty her ones look

This dessert is a failed one... hahahah.... not very successful... it was supposed to be a Oreo Dirt Pudding and it did not turn out right.... this one i will NEVER attempt again.... hahahahah.... i'll just stick to my usual peaches and cream ;D

And this one.... Choco Cornflakes.... i had an order for this way back in June from my kakak angkat Di Wi... hahahah... only 2 weeks before puasa ended i decided to reconfirm how may pieces she wanted and she told me 400 pcs!!! So i only made one batch earlier this week and the rest yesterday afternoon... it is tiring!!! And guess what i have 2 more orders from 2 other people... Well i was out just now and i wanted to buy some cookie cutters, there was one in particular that i saw from Giant a few weeks ago and it was shaped like the playboy bunny logo. Sadly, i could not find it today =( Anywhoos i think i will be baking or making something within the 2 days holidays.... yay!!! that is it for now... will update soon... <3 xoxo

Spa, food and understanding

More pics and info here

So that's a picture of Thann Spa at Kiulap, it's opposite Jungle Gym. Well on saturday, i decided to use my $50 bday voucher from my colleagues.... yes... the voucher has been with me since March and it was a good thing that it expires in 6 months... i still had a couple more days before it reached 6 mths =D. I was at Le Taj on Friday night for a sungkai dinner with Rosie, Azre, Rai and Sabeeq. That was when i took the opportunity to book a massage for myself before i put the voucher to waste. I'm not a really big fan of Indian food but LeTaj's sungkai buffet was $14.80 and the food was not too bad. They had quite a good range and i love the setting over there. I had a fun night laughing with them, esp sabeeq... He is one crazy dude.

Back to Thann spa... i did not want to do a full body massage because i was afraid of the pain so instead i opted for 2 treatments that cost $25 each. The first one was the back, neck & shoulder massage for 30mins and the other was the foot reflexology for 30mins. The setting of the spa is really beautiful. I was led to the room inside and they place you on sofa chairs, it was dim with soothing instrumental music playing in the background. The back, neck & shoulder massage was really good, i felt. They asked you if the pressure is alright. They also got me to soak my feet because i was going to do a foot reflexology. Then it was time for my foot reflexology, i had the choice of to either sit up and watch or lay down. Well i decided to lay down... and i fell in and out of sleep. I could even hear myself snoring... that was how relaxed i felt! The foot reflexology did hurt at some point but it did not hurt that long so yeah... it was a good massage day =D

Puasa... hmm... a good time to gain weight you know... Last week itself i went out 3 nights in a row to sungkai with friends and then there was a lil cuz bday on sunday. Wednesday, i went to ILotus with my friends from the Credit Admin team... for $16.80 it is worth your money!!! so much range to choose from and they have the grill section. The grill section is where you pick out lamb or various seafood and they will grill/panggang it for you and deliver it to your table. Again, i'm not much of a seafood fan but they had lots of other food for non seafood lovers like me. There was rice, noodles and i think over 5 types of dishes to go with it. Then there was the cucurs and all the fried food like sausages and fishballs or chicken balls. Yum!!!! I'm headed back there this thursday =D. Then thursday the next day, i went to Fratini's in Sg Tilong. It was a last minute plan for me to join my Credit Admin colleagues. The promotion - 50% off pizza and pastas before 7p.m. Fratini's is a bit pricey, but when there is promotions like this, you sure would not want to miss it!. I had fun, eating pasta and pizza. The pasta i ordered came in a really big portion and i was full, plus i had 4 slices of pizza... yeah... i really do pig out XP. Then Friday was at Le Taj! Le Taj also did serve ice cream and a bit of pasta and pizza... not too bad too.

Saturday night, i had a cousin who is here for a bit before she goes back to Germany. Our other cousins decided to celebrate her son's 2nd bday so there was plenty of food!!! I had the taufu-fah and some chicken soup... I did not pig out this time bcoz, i ate a lil bit before we came there. There was also fried popiah with banana as a filling... weird but tasty becoz the banana was sweet. As usual, the aunties went a bit wild and dirty... hahahah... For those of you who really know me, then you know how dirty i am... well, it runs in the family! Then Sunday... ahhh... i went to church because i decided to save a life by donating some of my blood. I finally found the kain i was looking for. Then i to a short nap before going to KB. What's in KB?!? FOOD!!!! AHAHAHAH.... I revolve around food ya =). Sharin, future-bro-in-law, has a stall there with his friends. We went bcoz my sister, katherine wanted to buy food from the darling. Across Sharin's stall was the Abu stall, they sell the best roti telur and roti ayam ever!!!!! Yummy!!!! This time round i decided to buy the roti ayam. The roti telur was $1.00 and the roti ayam was $2.50! well worth my money. I also bought Sri Kandi's chicken kebab... yummy but i prefered if they would strip all the chicken off their skin.

So there you have it... my food adventures... will update if i have tride new places. =D
Plus... it will soon be 100 days that our dad has left us. I still do think of him a lot and i do feel his presence at times. As usual, life has to go on and we have to move on but his memories will live in us always. xoxo, KeL

*i have never understood why you were so proud of me, now that i know why, i still don't understand it. One day i will be able to understand it... but not now. i still have so many answers to look for*

A blooming tree in the background

Hellew all... so i have been very busy lately... I have now moved to my new department, i must admit i was overwhelmed at first, i'm now trying to get the hang of it... i just to remember the steps of how to do things... My last few weeks before i left for my new department was hell as usual. I had so many things to do and yet there was still so much that was pilling up on the side. I tried to finish as much as i could. Then i went on a short trip to KK and it was fun... I was sick when i was there... There was plenty of eating but there was a point where i could not eat because i felt really bad. Other than that, i did get panicky when i went to Centerpoint because there was so many people and they were literally body to body. I don't know how i did it in Singapore. I did not shop till i drop there because they did not have the particular stores that i wanted. I did have fun going everywhere and guess what? i just booked my ticket to KK in December for the weekend. Cheap fares though $59 return! And as usual, nothing beats Singapore! =)

If you are wondering about the picture above, well its a tree far away from my back garden. It actually caught my sister's attention and she took a picture of it. Me being a very curious person myself, i decided to take a picture so there it is. We have never seen any of the tress back there bloom so we found it quite strange.

Other interesting things that happened today, I got my half yearly rating and i got a 3 Strong! Yay!!! i actually felt like i did not accomplish what was set for me, because i had so much work pilling from everwhere... The good thing was, i did entertain internal customers and i go all the way to help them. That was actually not part of my job scope but since i did it was recognized by my line manager in the other department =D well dealing with internal customers was a good experience for me because i made a whole lot of new friends and aquintances plus i know who i can ask favours from now.... heheheheh... Then we had late breakfast around 9+++a.m. The food was great, noodles, chicken curry, fried chicken, sandwiches and a whole lot more, i made my dessert, peaches and cream. I had trouble making it because i could not find nestle cream so i had to find a substitute for it which was Paul's Thickened Cream Light. It only had 6 hours to sit in the fridge and the cream was still a bit watery, it did not freeze a bit. Overall, they all loved it... which was quite goo and i was very surprised to see that, they only left 1/10 in the container.

The week went pretty fast for me which is good, i hope to have a good sleep in tomorrow. Sleep for me now has never felt like what it use to... i feel more refreshed when i wake up everyday, it was nothing like what i used to have so yeah maybe it's because of less work worries and stress... hehehe... well, i'll try to update more often but hey no promises on that... =P Bubyez... xoxo

Happenings....

Hellew All, finally i have made time to blog. A lot has happened since my last post, i'm still really jammed packed at work with so many things to do and work related activities going on. I'm slowly clearing all of my work, things are just piling up like there is no tomorrow. First of all, i now understand why my friend told me "Don't disappoint me, make me proud ok". It has something to do with what someone said to "my soon to be line manager". When "my soon to be line manager" told her staff that i would be joining her, the person said "Liat, geng siapa" and "my soon to be line manager" got bangang. It was not only "my soon to be line manager" decision but also the assistant manager's. I was a little bit upset because I can't believe that this person judged me by who I make friends with. They just really don't know me. I worked hard to be where i am and i can't help it if the door of opportunities open for me. I will prove that person wrong.

Moving on to another geram hati event, during Banker's half closing day, I got shot down, chewed up and spat out! A fellow colleague compared me to my peer colleagues and felt that i was not doing much. My work may not be a lot BUT VOLUME WISE!!!!!!! It's an easy task but if you get bombarded with documents by the truckload every week for several month, and you can tell me you can finish everything within that period, be my guest. Try it!!! Try being in my shoes, they think they can do it... This made me more upset and angrier. My job scope and my peer colleagues are different, the line of work is all so different. No one said anything to defend me. I must admit, i was taken aback but then i realised to argue would be a waste of my time because i'm leaving them. THANK GOD!!!!

Other things, i watched transformers twice. I'm going on a short trip in 2 weeks time, i hope that goes well, then it will be to my new role... So many things to do and yet so little time...

~ As long as my head's in the right place, my feet are on the ground, i think i'll be fine~

A turn in life

Hellew all, i decided to post up this random picture, it's a lotus flower and the words below it is in japanese pronounced kouf-ku which means happiness. This was supposed to be my tattoo that i was supposed to get when i went to S'pore last March, but some things happened and i did not go through with it. I will still get it, not so soon but most probably in the future. It has been 15days since my dad has passed, my sis and i went to visit his grave after my interview yesterday. I can tell you, i'm coping really well with it. My heart does not feel heavy now compared to what i felt a few hours before he passed. I have said everything i needed to say before he left. Honestly, i can tell you that i'm not as close to my dad as my other sister is but we did have our moments, aggreements and disagreements. He always gets worried when i decide to drive on my own... heheheheh... Parents will be parents ya. =D I feel that it was his time, at least he is not hurting anymore. And as usual, life has to go on. R.I.P Daddy, we will always love you <3

Updates on what has been happening...I'm actually still on leave and will only be back at work starting Monday. I went to the office yesterday for an internal vacancy interview for another department. I was a bit nervous the day before because have applied for 2 other vacancies before this and i did not get the first one and the other position was being put on hold at the moment. The interview went very well and you know what? An hour or two after the interview, my line manager sms-ed me to tell me that i should call the HR personnel. And yeah, I GOT IT!!!!! I was very surprised and happy because things like this normally take a longer time. So i was surprised that the response was very fast. The reason why i applied for this new job in the first place was because i am tired with my current job and there is no prospects of me moving up the career ladder. This new job will be something new and interesting. I'm also scared at the same time... but it's ok, life is always full of surprises, it all depends on how you take and react to each situation. ;)

I think a very close friend of mine helped me, because she just kept nagging me to apply. I wanted to apply when the advert came out but things happened so quickly that i had to take emergency leave, then the vacancy's deadline was extended and i applied whilst on leave. So yeah, it could be my luck and the help of some close friends of mine. My friend also told me and i quote "Don't disappoint me, make me proud ok". My friend, i WILL make you proud and i will prove myself to everyone. I will make sure that i will give my all and that they won't regret taking me in.... Ahhhhh... I'm in bliss.... New directions and new beginnings. Maybe things are looking my way now. I don't exactly know when i will start this new role, i guess it's most probably after they find a replacement for me. I will make sure that i clear everything i have pending now, even if it means coming to work on Saturdays, i will do it... I won't even claim OT for it... hehhehehe... yes that is how happy and semangat i am now =D I guess this is it for now.. will update soon =D bubyez <33

At the brink of insanity!!!

Hellew all, work this week has been really crazy. Crazy sh*t has been happening and work is piling up like there is no tomorrow. I really don't know how i get through things like these, let alone work. I just realize, how the hell was i able to withstand doing everything that i do? i think i need to move out, and get away from those neverending paperwork!!!! All jobs i know have paperwork, but this one, its forever paperwork! Some days i feel like I'm so close to jumping out a window. Anywhoos, forget that... you know what was the craziest thing that happened to me this week? I nearly LOST my purse and my phone!!! And how this happened, i had a rough day at work on Tuesday and then my sis and i decided to eat at Ideal in Gadong, and as we left, i told my sis i carry the drink that we tapau-ed while she carried the food and we walked out and drove home. I only realised it when we were getting out of the car at home!!! And that is like 20mins to 30mins drive from Gadong. My sis panicked, i panicked like hell, because i would have to make a police report, then there are my atm and credit cards, my i.c. and every other important card there is. SH*T!!!! But Thank God, we actually brought home the receipt and we called the restaurant and i was very lucky that both my phone and purse was still there. I don't normally forget my things, but that day everything just seem to go out the window!

On a lighter note, i was "introduced" to a RnB singer, Stevie Hoang. His famous hit Addicted is a really cool one. I just downloaded his album, i have not got the chance to really listen to his songs but judgung from the songs i have heard, he's a good one. He's got several websites, but if you want to listen to what he's got you can click here. For more info and pictures you can try this and here.

I thank God its the weekend!

Book Making Class

Hellew all. Today my sister gave me my birthday gift and it was a book making session where i learned the correct and proper way to make books. It was a very interesting and enjoyable time for me. I would recommend it to people who likes to do arts and craft. A session which is about 3 to 4 hours cost $75, including a book making kit which you get to choose (this kit comes with the papers, cardboards, and all essentials you need for book making basics), all stationaries provided and refreshments. You also learn how to handle a drill as well. So its pretty cool. In the end you not only get a book but you know how to make a book. So here are some pics of the class.

This is the card of the person who runs the whole bookmaking session. Its a bit blur, yes but if you would like to know more about Rozi and what she does, you can click here. You will schedules of her upcoming classes and also galleries of her already made books and also photo albums for some of her clients. Its a very interesting class and i will tell you that you would not realize that time really flies. i guess that it is for now... Bubyez =D))

Back from Hiatus!

Hellew all!!!! i know i have disappeared for quite a bit, so i shall try to sum up everything that has happened. i won't be posting up much pics because i'm lazy =P. So, food wise, i have been eating a lot. i had a taste at deer meat cooked with spring onion(i think) during Jade's farewell dinner, let's just say it is an acquired taste. It was not my cup of tea and to me it tasted a bit funny. Then there was Korean food at a colleague's fiance shop... at first i hesistated but then i decided to be adventurous. Since it was a new shop and it was my first go at korean food, it was also not my cup of tea... maybe its the food... Fret not ppl, i will try korean food again at a different location in the near future. Then on my Singapore Trip, i had Chilli Crab. Hmmm again, it was ok but a big hassle when you have to dig out the meat. Our host for dinner said that it was very interesting to watch me eat crab... hahahah... yes i'm a bit fussy, i know. Then work wise, am swamped with plenty of work, this happened a few days before i went on my trip... was dumped a HUGGGEEEEE pile... ~sigh~~ i hate documentation! wish i can burn them all. I will be facing work head on tomorrow!

Okie... now a bit of other things, i was "surprised" by my colleagues on my bday with a cake, breakfast for everyone and a Thann spa voucher which i have yet to make use of. Why i said "surprise" was because, i knew it was coming and how did i know? My colleagues hid the cake in the safe where i work and where everyone and myself could see it. hmm~~~ i don't blame them, i think that was the hardest they tried... but not discreet enough though XP. i really did enjoy myself that day because some people on the other floor sang to me. Thanks everyone for the greetings and the singing, i really appreciate it =D)) Then we had dinner with Kak Mai at Swenson's, thanks for the treat Kak Mai!!!! It's banana splits all the way!*wink wink* ;D

Then there was HM's visit to the BPC office. i nearly had the perfect picture because he was looking my way when a tall colleague of mine had to step in front of me! Some days i really hate being short!
Lastly, to end March with a bang was my trip to Singapore, i met a lot of people, some new and some familliar. I really enjoyed myself, although i may have been a bit quiet on some days, to be honest i had good fun. It was good that we met up with our counterparts from the HSBC Singapore, just did some talking, catching up, exchanging life cultures and our lines of work in HSBC. Oh yeah, i also caught the flu and cough from kat when we were there. I enjoyed walking untill my feet are about to fall off and people watching... let's just say, i saw a lot of running ladies... heheheheh =D)) In a nutshell, Singapore, Good times and memories!

That's me eating breakfast at Burger King and trying to look like a tourist! LOL!!!! I guess this is it for now, gotta go and see the doctor! I am thankful that i did not get any asthma attacks whilst on this trip.

It's a Bangkok Love Story

Hellew All... A very fast update. I actually drove to work alone today... i tell you, i think there is at least one crazy driver out there and there is also a certain car that is out to get you... one tried to run me over at a bend when i was on my way to work! Anyways... you are probably wondering about the picture above and the title of this blog. You see, i watched this movie last night. Its about a hitman who, i think, falls in love with his target, who is a gay man in denial married to a woman. What possesed me to buy this movie? I have no idea, i had this image in my head that it would be a happy and flowery movie but it was the complete opposite. It's got people who has aids, male prostitution, killings and yeah... grown well built men kissing and rolling on the groung at it. It was not what i expected but it was a good movie, it had a good storyline and i think i does reflect a little bit of some of the people lives in Thailand. So it does give an insight of how gay people are... they are just like normal people just in love with the same sex person.

Well tomorrow, i will be eating again. This time at CDP Curry House... i'll try to get some pics to post... so i guess that's it for this post... bubyez <3
