Gloomy Monday

Hey Everyone! Yes, it's a very cloudy and gloomy Monday at work for me. So i decided to take some time out and blog. I have been up to a lot of things this week. So first up, baking! I've been baking a quite a bit

Above I baked a dessert called Lemon Delicious Pudding. I actually made this dessert when i was in Melbourne on a holiday a few years back and i wanted to recreate it. Overall a success! I loved it and my sister actually finished one by herself. On the left, i made a no fat banana loaf, it was ok, my sister liked it. and last night i baked banana chocolate chip muffins. I baked last minuted because i wanted to get rid of my bananas before they went bad so i decided to make these muffins. And the recipe has never failed me once! I love it. And for an extra surprise, i put in a slice of banana in between of the muffins so you get a feel of more bananas in it.

Some of these pictures are overdued pictures.Lol! These are the friendly evergreen aunties and uncles that i spend every Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings with. They are the choir members of my church and if you did not know, yes I am in the choir with them. I am probably the youngest or 2nd youngest member. Here we are celebrating their birthdays and yesterday we had a big celebration for one of the uncles. It was his 60th birthday and he wanted crabs! So we actually had Crabs, fish, cockles, tanghoon salad, 3 types of green vegetables, bean sprouts, rice, chicken, fruits and cheese cake to top it all of! They can really eat and they are funny too! The last birthday celebration we had, the ladies were worried about pigmentation on their faces and how they could get rid of it, and yesterday it was still the same issue! Hahaha!

These are the only pictures i took during my short, short trip to KK. The one on the left was before we took of from the Airport and the ones below was on our road trip back home. It was a 5hr drive back home! I was sandwiched between my mum and my aunty. My mum actually bought a stylish hat in KK and used it on our way back in the car. So she practically slept in style. I did speed shopping in KK and I actually got, 6 ramekins, 2 border craft puncher, 3 pairs of shoes, a pair of knock-off aviator sunglasses, 2 pairs of fipper rubber flip flops and a Starbucks tumbler with a sipper straw! Money well spent i tell ya!

I guess this is it for today. Hope you all have a great week ahead of ya.Below is something to cheer you up if you are worried about your belly. lol! Just to keep your spirits up,
YOU ARE FABULOUS AT ANY SIZE!!!
 XOXOXO =*

Hey Everyone! I'm so excited today because I'm flying off later. YAYYYYYY!!!!! Yes I'm very excited to get on that plane and fly. I guess i like that feeling of taking off and landing...Anyways, I have been home alone since Wednesday and it's very boring. There wasn't anything good on TV either. And of course I had no one to make my 10 cents face to make me food. I had to cook, so yeah that was fun, trying to spice up what I should eat and stuff. Just so you know, I had a lot of bread and I actually do love bread over rice on most days.

Remember those poppadoms i was talking about, so this is how they looked like after they were fried. And the plastic packet also said Extra Large poppadoms. I didn't imagine them to be this big.

Since Wednesday was a public holiday, I got very bored and I started to look through all my recipe books and I found a very easy and simple chocolate chip cookie recipe. And since i had all the ingredients, i decided why not try it.

This was the outcome of my cookies, huge right? Well the recipe called for 1 cup of self raising flour and baking powder so they expanded and I was surprised. I like these cookies because they're a bit crunchy on the sides and bottom and chewy on the inside. It's definitely a keeper!

This was my dinner a few days ago; toast! Am I the only weirdo out there who like a good peanut butter-cream cheese toasted sandwich? Lol! It really tastes good and I really love it.

I guess this is it for now! A few more hours then WHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEE. Yes, excited much I am! Till the next post, bubyez =D

Sometimes I can be a bimbo

Hi everyone! Just a quick update! I have not watched Despicable Me 2 yet! I'm probably going to watch it on Monday!!! Yay!!! It's already July and the fasting month will start soon. I like working during the fasting month in this new company because we get to work to either 2 or 3pm. Yay for me right? lol. Honestly, I don't remember what i was doing during the fasting month last year. What i remember was the fasting month during my banking years, I remembered that I still had to work normal hours, which was such a drag. So I am looking forward to puasa this year. Just thinking of all the free time I can have all to myself. Anyways, i will be taking a short trip next weekend! and when I mean short, i mean really short. So I'll be flying to my destination next Saturday after work and returning back the next day Sunday by car. Yes! Super short right? So speed shopping is all i can do. I'm quite excited because I finally get to fly... Hahahahahaha, I know it sounds weird but I actually do enjoy being on the plane and flying off. I like that feeling. Hopefully I can do more next year. As for this year, this is my first flight out. So sad right? Well i'm saving my leave for my big trip for December. I'm going to Korea and stopping over in Singapore before I head back. I'm so excited and I think the long break will do me good. And when I mean long break, I mean 14 calendar days long! I really can't wait for it. I hope i get to experience snow! Oh Korea, wait for me ya! :D

Now back to why I can be a bimbo sometimes. So the other day, I was craving for poppadums and you can actually buy some store bought instant ones. I went to my regular supermarkets and searched high and low for it. I searched for weeks ok and i could not find any. Last week, on a Sunday, my sister and i decided to buy some groceries and i told her that i will check for these poppadums and when i told her i could not find them. She said it was impossible and she asked me which section did i looked for it. I told her the frozen section. She laughed at me so hard and then told me that they're not frozen and i could usually find them in the sundries section. Yes, i did not know poppadums were dry! I thought they were like the frozen roti pratha ones! Hahahahahahaha... silly me right? Anyways, I managed to get the last box on the shelf! Yay! I have yet to cook these babies, maybe soon coz i know that there is a public holiday coming up soon! Yayers! Guess this is it. I'll update soon :D

I was curious, so I baked

Hey everyone, I'm back again. In my yesteryear posts, I would always say that I bake because I'm bored. This time around, I was curious so I decided to bake. Yes, lately I have been obsessed with peanut butter, so one night as i was about to go to sleep, the idea came to me. How does peanut butter chocolate brownies taste like? Of course when I woke up, i forgot what I wanted to bake and it took me ages to remember what I wanted to make. I actually found 2 recipes, but I decided to use the one with less ingredients because I'm lazy like that hahahahaha =P I actually used a smaller pan and I had to bake it longer because the middle was still runny. Overall, the outer layer is crunchy and the inside was soft and chewy. It's not too sweet just nice but I feel that there is something missing in these brownies. I'm still trying to figure it out. Here is the original recipe.

I was really busy in the kitchen yesterday because I wanted to try so many things. So I also made some Cream Cheese Popiah/Spring rolls. I really love the prawn and cheese ones from Excapade Sushi but i wanted to make some for myself without buying from them. I searched high and low on the internet for that recipe and i found it on a fellow Bruneian's blog hehehehehehe. Click here for the original recipe.I don't have any pictures to show off but my verdict is; it's not too bad but I probably need sweet Thai chilli sauce so it tastes similar to what Excapade Sushi serves.

The next recipe that I'm gonna try would be 'GyeRan Bbang' which is Korean Egg Bread. I have found a certain recipe that i would like to try. I post it up if i have tried making it already. It has definitely been a while since I've baked and I quite enjoy it.

In other news, I can't wait to watch Despicable Me 2!!! I've already watched Monster's University and I love it!!! I so can't wait till Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2! YES! I LOVE MY CARTOONS!!! hahahahaha. And oh, a random fact about me, I don't really know how to work the current microwave that we have in our house. It's not the digital kind, it's the modern looking one with some turning knobs. Lol!

I guess that is it for now! Will update more soon ;D Ciao~

It's 2013!

Hi everyone! I did not realize that it has been a little over 1 year since I've updated my blog. And yes, I have definitely been very busy with life. I have gone through a lot of ups and downs in life but I am ultimately grateful for everyone who has always been there for me. I've met a whole new lot of people now, but of course that does not mean that I have forgotten my old friends. I still keep them in mind wherever I go :) I guess i have matured over the whole year in a different environment. I will try my very best to update this blog now, at least once a week... hahahahaha... but seriously, i do have a lot of time on my hands now.

So if you don't have me on Instagram, here is some facts just to keep everyone up to speed with what I am up to and this is everything i can think of about me now. I love bags, handbags in particular. I still love to eat so I am as curvy as ever (lol). I no longer work in the Bank and am currently in an IT consulting company. I've changed posts in my current workplace 3 times for my already 1 yr duration here; from a Call Agent to a HR Personnel and now to a Helpdesk Analyst. I don't really like the HR field although a lot of the people I work with says I'm cut out for it. I still have not have made time to read books, which i know i should. I also love to bake when I have the time! I used to take orders for it but I've stopped now because I'm not as youthful as I used to be XP. I am still a pirate hehehehe. I love to travel and i can't wait to go on holiday. I'm now finding a bit of joy using Apple products, although I still have a lot to learn about them. I am back in my church choir, singing with the wonderful evergreen aunties and uncles. I now like coffee, it gives me that kick start every morning. I absolutely LOVE peanut butter, particularly Peter Pan branded ones. I'm crazy about korean dramas and variety shows now, particularly 2days and 1night. I like collecting Starbucks tumblers and cold cups. I am kinda into scrap booking now, but i can't seem to get any ideas or inspiration easily. I've had my car for 5 years now and i still love it. I don't cam-whore as much as I use to. Some nights I can become a travel agency, since people always ask me to purchase air tickets on their behalf. When I am stressed, chocolate is my #1 answer. I still love watching cartoons, even in the cinema. I love the colour pink.

I think that it is it for now. And here is a 5 month old picture of me, my hair is just longer now. LOL. =D

I'm back again

Hi All, yes i'm back yet again. I know it's very bad of me not to update as often as i should but yeah. Firstly, i finally ended my 4yrs 7mths with the bank. Yes, i have decided and it's time i've moved on. Things have been crazy and i had really strong feelings about leaving. I had to think twice because i didn't have any other job offers then so i was just holding on. One day, my sister told me that there was on opening in her company for a call centre agent and i of course have a lot of experience in that field. So i was like, "WTH! I'll just give it a go. My chances are 50/50 and if i don't get it, i still have my job". I submitted my CV and waited. Not too long after that i got a call for an interview, i went for it and the interview really went well. I felt really good after the interview and i felt that i put myself out there but whether i got it or not was another uncertainty. From what my sister told me, they were pretty impressed with me and they wanted to hire me. So yeah, I got it!!! I was very happy and excited. Some people who know both me and my sister would think that i got the job because of my sister, but they are so wrong. Yes, my sister did work in the bank before i joined and now this company. I must say, that she never pushed for me or had any influence in any of my job hiring. She just helped me by putting in my CV and that was it. I am very grateful that for every post that i have applied where she has/is currently working at, i always have work experience in the field that is needed. It seems like my sister and i are destined to work in the same company and maybe eventually together. I am very happy and grateful in this new job. So far the work is pretty relaxed but of course it will pick up in the next few months. They told us that it will be crazy and stressful. For me, that is nothing i've never handled before. I've been to hell and back and there is nothing that i cannot handle. I'm not being cocky or anything, but when you've worked like a mad person, going back in that state is normal... hahahaha... Like some people has said to me, i'm very matured for my age. I must admit this tho, i'm now working with a lot of young people or people around my age. It's something that i have to adjust to. To be honest, i kinda "lost" and "don't really know" how to talk or click with people around my age now. Sometimes, when i hang out with a group of people around my age, i don't really know what to say, so that is why I'm so quiet and i don't say so much. I guess it's because i started working with a lot of older people at a young age that i mature so fast. I can tell you that i am very comfortable and click very easily with people who are 30 and above. Sometimes I feel that i have more in common with them than people who are around my age. Definitely, i have to adjust in this new job and go with the flow. For now, I'm lovin' it!!! =D

In other news, i've turned 25 already... how does that feel? well pretty much the same... Age is just a number. I feel that lately I've been thinking more about my dad. I now feel that i understand why he was so strict, emphasized so much on education and worked so hard. It was for all of our own good and we would not have been where we are now without it. I'm very grateful he did it and looking back i really appreciate what he did for us. He really inspires me in so many ways. He may have not talked so much and i may have not spent so much time with him as i should have but now i really understand. It gets me so inspired and motivated to work hard and reach for the stars. Nothing is impossible unless you put you mind to it. I know he's watching over us and i hope he is happy and proud that he raised his girls right. :')

I guess this is it for now, i will try to update more often since i have more time on my hands now =)

It's December already

Hi All!!! As usual, i reappear again....lol! Definitely a lot has happened and i shall go through the highlights...

October - hmmmm.... i cant seem to remember what happened in this month. Well what i remembered was that i was supposed to move to my new role on the last week of october, but because my bosses were not looking hard enough for a replacement, they had to retain me that last week and only let me go as of 1st November. That last week, i had to spend half the day in Jerudong and the afternoon in Gadong. So it was a lot of driving up and down for me.

November - I finally start full time in Gadong. Being in the front lines is definitely different and a big eyeopener for me. The work is not as hectic like my previous role. I move around a lot more in this new role, a lot of running around and interacting with a lot of people everyday. I don't spend a lot of time infront of a computer like i used to. it is very fun and i feel much more "free". The only downside is that i have to work saturdays. To be honest, i konk out quite easily these days. I'd get so tired after work that when i wake up in the morning i feel like i don't have enough sleep. It's a good thing i guess, i sleep much better and i kinda "exercise" more than i use to... LOL!!! Also, i went to Penang to accompany my sis for her Penang Bridge Marathon and no, i did not hold up a sign this time. I think holding up a sign would be reserved for KK's Borneo International Marathon. My sis says she will doing it again next year, so i will be more prepared this time round. I'll hold up my sign, be prepared with my camera, a pen and paper. Just in case i ever meet any cute runners that could potentially find me cute and not run away from me... hahahaha... As corny as it sounds, i just hope that particular one will be there next year and that i'll finally remember how he looks like! About my new role, it is definitely interesting and i have made new friends already. I mean i do know some of them but getting to know them has been interesting. The only thing is because my sister used to work there with some of them, they assume i'm like her and have mistakenly called out her name instead of mine. I do look a lot like my sister but a lot of people assume i am an exact replica of her. Looking exactly like her is cool, because that means they're looking at my face and not my body but thinking that i act like her, is a whole different thing. Some people who have gotten to know us both or have closely observed us, have found that we are very different. I'm not as loud and chatty as her. I'm more quiet and reserved around people that i am acquainted with. If i know you better, then i would warm up but other than that, i'd definitely make small talks and flash you my big smile. Some people are quite surprised how different we are. Lookalike sisters with different personalities. My sister is so friendly that she makes a lot of friends, especially clients. Sometimes when these people see me walking on the streets or in a restaurant, they stare or smile at me like they know me but of course they don't know that i'm not my sister. Then if my sister comes and join me, then it clicks to them and they always go "Oh, i thought she was you". Funny stuff i tell you.

So now it's december, i'm on leave for the next few days. I'll be back to work by monday... boo hoo =( I have been lazing about today and so far it has been good =) 2012 is coming pretty soon so i have no expectations, just that i have a feeling that next year will be a good year for me. Things will definitely be better. I know some people are worried that the world will end in 2012. I'm not. To be honest, i saw bits and pieces of the movie 2012 and this is what i think. If the world were really to end in 2012, i don't think God would tell us, he'd just wipe us all out at one go. If we were meant to die in 2012, then we'll just all die at one go. There won't even be time for us to prepare. so if you're worried 2012, don't. If the world is meant to really end in 2012, then it would. But if it isn't, it's best we don't know when. So live your life like it's the last and enjoy it while it lasts =) xoxo
